Change fluids on time.

When it comes to maintaining your vehicle, understanding when you should be changing your fluids is crucial. Although most vehicles recommend regular fluid changes, it's essential to keep a close eye on the performance and needs of your particular car or truck. Regular maintenance can significantly extend the life of your vehicle and ensure it runs smoothly for years to come.

Fluids to Check on Your Car:

  • Engine Oil

  • Transmission Fluid

  • Brake Fluid

  • Coolant

  • Power Steering Fluid

  • Windshield Washer Fluid

Your tires make a difference.

  • Rotate your tires every 10,000 kilometres or every 6 months.

  • Check your tire pressures approximately once a week.

  • Low tire pressures can affect fuel economy, handling and comfort. In order to accurately check tire pressure, wait until your tires are cold. If you have been recently driving, wait for three hours before checking.

  • Always be sure that your wheels are properly aligned. Poorly aligned wheels will again lead to dragging of the car on the road.

  • Check your spare tire each month and keep it properly inflated so it’s ready to go when you need it most.

Engine Care

  • Check and/or change your air filter every 6 months. This helps to improve fuel economy and keep your engine running smoothly.

  • Don’t top off gas when filling your vehicles gas tank. Any additional gas is just going to slop around or possibly seep out.

  • Be sure to tighten up that gas cap. The gas from your vehicle will evaporate from your gas tank if it has an opening to escape from.

  • Make sure you use the right motor oil. You can improve your car’s gas mileage by using the manufacturer’s recommended grade of motor oil.

  • And always check for potential problems before they happen.
